Microphone Cables

Astronics hook-up and flexible wires are manufactured using bright annealed, tinned or bare electrolytic copper conductors for optimal performance and flexibility. They are insulated with PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) to ensure reliable electrical insulation.

These wires are resistant to acids, alkalies, oil, flame, moisture, solvents, and fungus.

Astronics microphone cables utilize high-conductivity copper produced through an electrolysis process. The high purity of electrolytic copper ensures performance comparable to oxygen-free copper cables.

MIC cable construction uses either one or two conductor configurations. Cable selection depends on whether the microphone or instrument has a high or low impedance design. High-impedance microphones require unbalanced single-conductor cables, while low-impedance microphones use balanced two-conductor designs.

Key properties of microphone cables include ruggedness, flexibility, long flex life, low loss, low noise, and strong interference immunity.
